Yolanda Jurkota (nee Piergiovanni), of Hasbrouck Heights, formerly of Hoboken and Union City, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026 at the age of 93.
Born on June 1,1932 in Molfetta, Italy, Yolanda grew up surrounded by the traditions and values that would shape her life. In 1954, she immigrated to the United States with her beloved husband Bartolomeo, beginning a journey defined by courage, faith and devotion to family. Together they built a life rich in love, friendship and strong community ties.
A devout Catholic, Yolanda's faith was at the center of her life, guiding her actions and strengthening her family. She was known for her warmth, generosity and the joy she found in bringing people together. Her home was a place of comfort filled with laughter, shared meals and enduring traditions. Her kindness, generosity and unwavering devotion to those she loved left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Yolanda is survived by her loving children: her daughter Mary De Santis and her husband Vincent; her son Anthony Iurcotta and his wife Olivia; and her daughter Angela Cortina and her husband Dino. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Isabella Britton and her husband Greg, Joseph De Santis and his wife Laura, Ashlyn Cortina, Toni Iurcotta and her fiance Joshua Newman and Anthony Iurcotta Jr. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Jake and Chloe Britton who brought her immense joy.
Yolanda's legacy of love, faith and family will live on through all who knew and cherished her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
May she rest in Eternal peace.
Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Avenue in Hasbrouck Heights on Wednesday, April 15th at 10 AM. Funeral Liturgy from Corpus Christi R.C. Church 260 Boulevard in Hasbrouck Heights at 11 AM. Entombment following at Fairview Mausoleum. Visitation Tuesday, April 14th from 4 - 8 PM at the funeral home.
